Not only does the Kakadu Plum taste great, but they are unrivalled in their health benefits. Found in tropical Northern Australia, these pale green fruits - also known as Billygoat Plum, Gubinge or Kabiny Plum - have been used by local indigenous communities for thousands of years as a source of both food and medicine.

A known superfood, Kakadu Plum has the highest recorded levels of Vitamin C of any fruit in the worldup to 100 times more than the mighty orange. They are also a known antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral agent.

Today, there are a multitude of uses for the Kakadu PlumThe fruit can be freeze dried and crushed into a powder to be used in health foods, health products and cosmetics. The tart fruit with a fruity aroma of stewed apples and pears is also being increasingly used by chefs in ice cream, jams and sauces.

It was the fruity characteristics of the Kakadu Plum that we wanted to highlight when crafting our Kakadu Plum Gin with the addition of local Adelaide Hills pears and native Australian Anise Myrtle making for a decadent gin full of sweet spices.
